I’ve known Alaina since grade school, back when her mom made the most amazing cupcakes baked into ice cream cones for school. Over the years, I’ve loved getting to watch her life unfold—from getting married, to becoming a mom, to using her voice for the people and places she cares deeply about, including Lebanon and Palestine.
Photographing Alaina and her family in their home felt especially meaningful. They are some of the most authentic people I know, and after all they’ve walked through together, there is something incredibly beautiful and deep about the way they love each other and exist as a family. This session felt less about posing and more about preserving a little piece of who they are right now.
