Frequently asked questions
Which session is right for me?
Mini sessions are best for quick updates, milestones, couples, or families who only need a short amount of time, especially if your kids are older. Standard sessions allow more time for children, especially younger ones, to warm up, multiple groupings, natural interaction, and a wider variety of images. For most families and seniors, I recommend the standard session. The Extended Session should be selected if it's a travel event. If you're unsure, send me an email and I'll help you find the right fit!
What if my children don’t cooperate?
That’s completely normal. I’m a mom of three, ranging from toddler to teenager, so I’m comfortable with children in every stage. I won’t expect them to sit still and smile on command. We’ll follow their lead, take breaks when needed, and use movement and play to create genuine moments.
Where will our session take place?
Sessions can take place outdoors, in your home, or at another meaningful location throughout West Michigan. I’ll help you choose a setting that fits your family, the season, and the overall feeling you want for your photos.
What happens if the weather is bad?
I keep an eye on the forecast as your session approaches. If the weather would prevent us from creating beautiful photographs, we’ll discuss alternate locations or reschedule for another available date. I'll photograph in the rain if you're willing! It's all a part of the experience. Cloudy skies and a little wind usually aren’t a problem—and can often create beautiful light.
